Birth Plans Matter.
I attended a birth recently where the nurse called Birth Plans a curse. "Nothing goes as planned " she mocked.
The curse is within the system not the plan.
Read that again.
Birth plans are important. But why, when "nothing goes as planned"?
Birth plans aren't about the plan itself - theyre about what goes into making the plan.
The research. The education. The ability to make informed decisions and give proper informed consent.
Because when things "don't go as planned" - you still have a choice.
WHAT?! Are you saying I don't have to blindly comply?
I absolutely am.
Do you know what three things they give babies routinely after birth? No?
Then how do you know YOUR baby needs it.
Birth plans are about preparation. Preparation for however your birth unfolds.
